STONE took into account the decorative stone elements and their representation and importance around the building. STONE made sure to color match all decorative patches to match all existing decorative stone and appear as new.
STONE's observations concluded that the building required serious decorative stone repairs. Upon close examination and survey, STONE reformed the decorative stone to match original shape and condtion upon completion as well as repointed the existing decoraitve stone to once again have a newly restored aesthethic.
STONE did an extensive survery on the decorative stone at the building to achieve accurate drawings to replicate and replace the histrocal aspects of the building in kind to conform with Landmarks Preservation madate, update the facade safety as well as appeal.
STONE also paid special attention to the masonry pointing at the facade of the building. STONE made sure to provide several samples to Landmarks Preservation Commission to ensure we replicated historical conditions.
STONE observed the decorative stone window sills in disrepair and cracking, thus requiring careful replication and replacement. STONE made sure to reinstall new decorative stone sills without disturbing adjacent conditions.
STONE made it top priority to assure not only aesthethical restoration, but safety assurance at all levels of the building. STONE restored and secured all decorative stone balusters around the building to assure safety to not only the tenants but pedestrians below as well.
STONE took into account the the building roof and safety measures as well. STONE rebuilt the existing roof parapet to Dept. of Buildings Compliant height as well as new masonry to match the newly restored facade per Landmarks satisfaction.
Atop the newly built parapet, STONE installed new, black coping covers to match existing condition of the perimeter of the roof in kind. The installation also gave the coping cover a mint color tone and sealant to protect the top end of the building and be visible to pedestrians below of its historic appeal.
