Due to the location of the catwalks on the exterior of the facade of the Piano Factory. The catwalks exhibited extreme aging and weathering due to constant exposure to the elements. STONE revived the existing catwalks to contrast with the masonry of the building and assert its dominance at the inner courtyard of the Piano Factory.
Just as the catwalks themselves required repairs and restioration, so did the egress system assisting the them. STONE refreshed the staircase with a new black paint job to contrast with the adjacent building masonry as well as provide any rehabilitative repairs such as tread, platform and railing reanchoring, repairs, and replacement if required.
The underside of the existing catwalks of the building exhibited aging and cracking concrete. STONE rehabilitated the underside of the catwalks, repairing, recoating and giviing a contrasting look to the adjacent masonry.
STONE also attended to the repairs required at the topside of the catwalks, Fixing and leveling the concrete deck prior to a traffic coating application for duabiltiy and long lasting life.
STONE found the existing steel at the exterior catwalks to be in extremely decepit condition upon exposure. Understanding the severity and scope of the situration, STONE acted with the highest attention to detail to revive the existing steel into almost a brand new look.
The railings also required attention, not only for the updating of satefy measures, but the aesthetic to match. STONE applied physical examinations to the railings to test their durability and strength against weight and shake. After repairs, the railings looked brand new and safe for all residents.
